Cartizze, from the ancient dialectal name 'gardiz' the trellis on which the grapes were placed to dry, is a subdenomination that affects a very small area in the municipality of Valdobbiadene between the steepest hills of Santo Stefano and Saccol. A small amphitheatre made up of sandstone marl and clay soils makes the Glera almost over-ripen, thus guaranteeing an unusual concentration of aromas. The sparkling wine, while maintaining the freshness of Prosecco Superiore, becomes more lovable and dense with aromas.
