          Garbara is the nickname given to the branch of the Grotto family descending from Vittore, great grandfather of Ambrogio. In the local Veneto dialect it is an adjective used to identify a harsh and dry soil.

          The Garbara and the vineyards, a combination that has been handed down from generation to generation for over two centuries. For more than 60 years Ambrogio, called Brosio Garbara, born in 1926, has been cultivating and producing his Cartizze in his small estate in S.Stefano di Valdobbiadene, in the province of Treviso. Over half a century spent among the steep rows of vines taking care of every single vine, manually and in every little detail, with the absolute conviction that a great wine is created first of all in the vineyard. A passion, that of Brosio, perfected year after year in search of the perfect taste, perfume and perlage.

          A few thousand bottles a year, destined for friends and a small circle of loyal admirers, jealous and faithful guardians of their discovery.
