The great book of the family of the Counts of Collalto begins when the King of Italy Berengario in 958 made a gift to Rambaldo I'antenato dei Collalto, of the Montello wood and the Curtis di Lovadina, a vast plain of meadows, pastures and vineyards at the foot of the Treviso hills. An interweaving of many stories... as compelling as a chivalric poem. From the knights of the Middle Ages, the Collalto family inherited the spirit of loyalty and respect for the territory, which they have preserved for centuries, preserving its natural balance and enhancing its agronomic, viticultural and landscape characteristics. It is since 1110 that the Collalto family, from generation to generation, has presided over these hills, which over time have become the noble heart of Prosecco, putting their fertility to good use, with a particular preference for the care and development of vineyards and wine.
The Collalto winery is as precious as a treasure chest. The wooden barrels have been made to measure for the wines they house, to guarantee perfect ageing and to tell the story of the character and aromas of each one. The tonneaux for the reserves have a capacity of 500 litres, while the dimensions of the barrels range from 42 to 95 and 130 hl. The freshness and varietal profile of the white wines are assured by the majestic thermo-conditioned steel vats. The most imposing tank contains no less than thirty thousand litres. For the peculiarities of aging that they ensure, the historic concrete tanks have also been recovered.
